Red
Review: What better way to spend a Friday morning than to watch an action movie with Bruce Willis? I might sound a bit sarcastic, and I am. But not totally. I was simply in the mood of something basic and then this movie adaptation of the comic book Red was just the medicine. And with other actors such as Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren, Red was actually an ok watch.

Post #1000 or The Post That Offers a New Compilation
Like I told members of beats, breaks & big smiles 2.0s Facebook group the other day, I just realised that I was about to post my thousandth post here on this page. And to celebrate that I will offer a new installement in the compilation series to anyone interested. And guess what? As you might have guessed from the title, this is that post. What kind of music is it then? Well, it's just a mix to some of the music that I listen to the most at the moment. Some spanking new songs and some old ones. So if you want to listen to beats, breaks & big smiles vol. 5, all you have to do is write a comment and I will get you a link.

Cloudy October - The Aviator is Dead
Sometimes you just stumble across something that you like without even trying. Just this morning I saw the video to Cloudy Octobers song Lowerface. I really liked the beat and the song itself was alright. Nice then to find out that the EP The Aviator is Dead is available as a free download. So if you like the video below you can go here and download the EP. I haven't had the time to check it out for myself yet, but I will.

The Tallest Man on Earth - Sometimes the Blues is Just a Passing Bird
I can never thank my friend Anna-Maria enough for one thing. She was the one who introduced me to the world of The Tallest Man on Earth. She brought me to his show at Storan in Gothenburg last year, and since that moment very few days pass without me listening to at least one song by this man. Now he's followed up his latest album The Wild Hunt with this EP. Five songs written on the road and recorded recently on break from touring. And once again he blows me away. I don't think Kristian Matsson can put a foot wrong in my book. He will continue to follow me daily for a long time ahead.

Busdriver - Computer Cooties
Busdriver is working on a new album, recording and performing with a new band, Physical Forms, and just released the anticipated mixtape Computer Cooties.
And you can download it here.
Nectar of the Gods
Anyone who knows me knows of my obsession and addiction to Dr Pepper. When I went home to Dalarna this summer I noticed that we now have 1.5 litre bottles for sale. Paradise for me! But the thing is that I haven't found it in Gothenburg. Until now. Now when I'm about to move. Well, better late than never I guess.
TV-Junkie?
I had a conversation with a friend the other day regarding shows that I follow every week on TV (or via Internet which is more truthful). First I thought that I didn't follow that many. But I found out that I follow no less than 7 shows! Hmm, perhaps I should get a life?
Yelawolf - Rhyme Room Episode 2
I keep looking forward to Yelawolfs new album Trunk Muzik: 0-60 more and more. Here is some candy while waiting for it's release at the end of this month.

Solomon Kane
Solomon Kane
Review: Solomon Kane is the creation of author Robert E. Howard. I really don't know much about him except that he created Conan the Barbarian. The only reason I decided to see this movie was actually because one of my brothers mentioned it. Solomon Kane is a action fantasy movie about a mercenary who owes his soul to the devil and redeems himself by fighting evil. Yeah, the movie is about as intelligent as it sounds. But that's ok. That's kind of what you expect when you watch a movie like this. Solomon Kane is not half bad actually. James Purefoy is quite good as the main character and amongst the rest of the cast we find Max von Sydow, Pete Postlewaite and Alice Krige. It's a movie well worth checking out if you like these kinds of movies.

Jonah Hex
Jonah Hex
Review: I remember growing up reading the DC Comics series Jonah Hex. I've never been a big fan of Western stories, but there was something about this antihero that I enjoyed as a kid. I was however a bit sceptical when I heard about the movie adaptation starring Josh Brolin as Jonah. And what can I say? It's a easily digestable popcorn movie, no more no less.

the Preacher and the Bear
I had a good time at Underjorden tonight. Both Aggrenation and Brutal Knights was worth checking out. Another act that played that I really liked was the Preacher and the Bear. If you have the chance, please check them out sometime. Really good acoustic folk rock.

Brutal Knights & Aggrenation @ Underjorden
It looks like I'm off to watch some punkbands tonight. Brutal Knights from Canada and Aggrenation from Gothenburg. It might be fun. I'll let you know.
Bad Weekend
What better way is there to distract your thoughts a bit when you're having a really hard time coping with life then to watch a lot of tv shows? There are probably much better ways, but tv is my solution. So this weekend I have not only seen a bunch of episodes of both Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Supernatural, but I have also checked out the first episodes of The Good Guys and Human Target. My brain is fried right now.
